Job Reference Number: 0221-001 The RIPE Network Coordination Centre (RIPE NCC) is one of five Regional Internet Registries providing Internet resource allocations, registration services and coordination activities that support the operation of the Internet globally. The organisation is set up as a not-for-profit association and the working language is English. The environment is internationally orientated with staff from more than 20 countries. We are currently seeking a Trainer to work in the Training Services Department. This is strictly a full-time (5 days a week) position and requires regular international travel. The Training Services team designs training courses and delivers them to RIPE NCC members locally in most countries in the RIPE NCC's service region. Courses currently given are: * Local Internet Registry (LIR) course * Routing Registry (RR) course * Domain Name System Security (DNSSEC) course In addition to the above training courses, the Training Services team also gives presentations, tutorials and workshops on subjects related to IP networking and the RIR system at conferences and relevant meetings. This position is based in our office in the centre of Amsterdam, The Netherlands. The new Trainer will report to the Training Services Manager. Duties: • Deliver training courses, tutorials, workshops and presentations • Create, develop and maintain training course material • Contribute to the development of the E-Learning Centre • Coach, train and advise part-time Trainers to ensure a professional and up-to-date delivery of training courses • Contribute to the development of training strategies and training procedures • Create and update documentation related to Training Services • Prioritize tasks effectively, document procedures, and set deadlines Qualifications: In addition to the general qualifications that you can find on our website, we are specifically looking for someone who has: • Minimum two years experience developing and delivering technical training courses • Strong presentation skills • Experience with e-learning or web publishing • Experience with Internet technologies and routing protocols • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team • Ability to learn quickly and independently • Be willing and able to travel internationally regularly • Excellent command of written and spoken English The following qualifications are desirable: • Work experience in an international environment • Working knowledge of the Linux/Unix operating system • Experience with graphical design • Affinity with ISPs and the RIPE community.
