4.9-stable еще вроде не понимает на нем ничего кроме PATA.

Какой именно там SATA? SiI 3112 SATA150 - глючил, Promise PDC20375 SATA150 - работает. Переписывался с автором драйвера насчет глюков SiI 3112. Вот цитата из переписки: ====

Вдогонку своему письму пошлю ещё одно своё же (этого не было в uanog). ----------------- S875WP1LX "WinterPark" ... В работе... Тут труднее сказать. С ней были проблемы. Самое скверное то, что я так и не могу сказать, с чем. Под нагрузкой появлялись таймауты на разных дисках. Иногда наблюдались спонтанные перезагрузки. В конечном итоге мы, не мудрствуя лукаво (достала уже, было не до выяснения деталей), заменили память, шлейфы и перепрошили биос. Если ты про ту установку, что мы вместе мучили, то там была проблема более хитрая. Я боюсь, что ICH5 разные бывают.

Minor code changes in allocation clean-up had to be changed. - MFC of addspare. - add support for SATA error handling of ICH5 & 6300ESB (we need to read the SATA registers. Map SATA drives into which parts of the controller they are on. - the Promise channel needs to be reset on error (such as a media error) or it will hang on further I/O (ie. in ata_intr) - Fixed a PIO bug in which there is an under-flow & buffer over-flow bug. - On media error don't fall back to PIO on some the Intel SATA or Promise SATA devices. This doesn't help much and kill performance. Fail out I/O straight from DMA mode gracefully. - Add some more ICH device ID's. Update to new ICH UDMA flags. Potential Issues/brokeness - kernel core dumps should work not tested - Tagged Queuing should work not tested Known issues: - The RAID doesn't automatically rebuild need to run "atacontrol rebuild ar0" sort-of works. Сейчас возимся с INTEL S875, вот что интересного было до текущего момента: - приехал сервер с платой S875WP1LX + 2 винта WD2500JD, включенные на ICH5 SATA150. переключать на Promise не захотели, решили так и работать - 5-я фря диски не увидела. без проблем поставили 4.9 и накатили до 5.2.1p4. - примерно месяц без особой нагрузки сервер работал как часики. однако, когда пошли интенсивные нагрузки на винты, появилась проблема -- теряет диски на ходу и мёрзнет. последний крик на консоли -- что-то про ATAPI timeout, ad1 destroyed, если это принципиально, можно будет уточнить. после этого не всегда бутится. - пробовали подключать системный винт к другому каналу ICH5, виснет - сдали сервер продавцу. продавец 3 дня гонял какие-то креш-тесты от Микрософт, естественно, установив Windows, проблем не обнаружил - снова взяли тестировать. переключили винты на Promise, сконфигурили на каждом винте отдельный Raid 0 для пущей важности (на самом деле фря видит при этом винты и как ad, и как ar), нагрузили диски -- два файла по 10 Г в цикле копируются с диска на диск во встречных направлениях. в течении суток машина повисла с той же диагностикой - поскольку 100% уверенности в исправности винтов нет, сделали два дубликата системного винта (dd if=/dev/ar0 of=/dev/ar1 отработал нормально, хотя работал порядка 2-х суток), попробуем поганять по очереди. первый уже пошел. Так вот. Это из переписки со мной :). 2bar@ Подтверждамс, работает. Достаточно одной таблэтки ^W перепрошики биоса на свежую версию - и всё поехало. 5.2.1-R. btw, Promise TX2+ нифига не опознался 4.10-BETA.

This doesn't help much and kill performance. Fail out I/O straight from DMA mode gracefully. - Add some more ICH device ID's. Update to new ICH UDMA flags.

Potential Issues/brokeness - kernel core dumps should work not tested - Tagged Queuing should work not tested

Known issues: - The RAID doesn't automatically rebuild need to run "atacontrol rebuild ar0" sort-of works.

Let me know of any success or failures using this patches. I will be working on bringing these features into -current. My target deployment for this was -stable.
